About
Boston
Boston, the largest city in Massachusetts, is
situated on a magnificent natural harbor opening
onto Massachusetts Bay. This capital city is the
cradle of American Independence with numerous
historical landmarks and national icons such as
the Freedom Hall, Revolutionary War battlegrounds
and the U.S. Constitution battleship. The city's
rich heritage is mixed with its role today as
a contemporary center of high finance and high
technology housed in granite and glass towering
structures. With its many students, artists, academics,
and young professionals, Boston has become a haven
for the arts, international cinema, shopping,
ethnic foods, alternative music, and unconventional
politics.
Gibbs College-Boston
is located in the heart of the Back Bay area on
Newbury Street, a street known for its affluent
shops and fine restaurants. From the college,
many historical and architectural attractions
are within walking distance or a short ride on
the "T"-the safe and easy-to-ride trains
of the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority
which are networked throughout the city and surrounding
communities.
Bostonians enjoy a full range
of seasons with pleasant summer days for sailing
on the bay or trips to the beach, breathtaking
changes of foliage in the fall, brisk winter weather
perfect for snow skiing, and spring which brings
a full complement of budding trees and flowers
throughout the city.
